any one ever spin a rod bearing ?? this is a fresh motor and i had rods sized but i think they goofed up # 5 spun in the rod and gabbed # 6 and it to spun dont look as bad #5 thin as paper crank has some small scatches in it . my q is can i file the rod cap some to increas the crush some i put a new bearing in and it fits good and no blueing of rods or crank i think couse of the oil i use ,,,,,rotela t it has zink in it can i file the caps or will it be out of round ? can i rebearing it and how bad do scatches fine ones hert?

Let the shop fix it. Don,t file the caps.

if you try to fix it that way it'll probably be a bigger catastrophy nest time. tear it down and do it right. this time verify your bearing clearances and correct and oiling issues or anything else that may have caused the problem to begin with.

Nahhhhhh....





It took a 3lb sledge to separate the rods from the crank...

BTW -- I didn't smoke this one -- it was the original block from my son's '73 RR look-alike. Whoever did do this, they drove it until it locked up, for sure...
