i have a 360 engine which i installed 273 adj. rockers several yrs.ago.
recently i blew a headgasket, replaced everything and got it running.
rockers were adjusted correctly.
the problem i have is that oil is coming out onto the valve side but not on the pushrod side.
have i done something wrong ?
this engine was running for 7 yrs.
any input would sure be appreciated.

Make sure that you have the notch on the end of the rocker shaft down and forward on the left side of the engine (driver side) and down to the rear on the right side. I hope that if you ar using hydraulic lifters that you used the proper push rods. Solid lifter push rods are way too long.
PS: If you blew a head gasket I hope that you had the head trued or at least checked as this is the normal cause for a head gasket to go.

everything is correct. the motor was using the same 273 rockers.are you sure about the shaft orientation ?
i am not getting oil to the pushrod (ball and cup pushrods) side,
thats what i'm worried about.

are you turnimg the crank?
you have to have, oil in the lifter, and pressure in the galley. then when you spin the crank hydraulic force keeps the lifter full. it sqirts out a little from the top hole under all that pressure, but its has to be spinning .

You have everything put together right it will oil when running. Remember it will only oil one side at a time. Oil goes to alternate heads according to camshaft position.

Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks. But: Don't fix it, if it Works!
