i have a chance to buy a couple of 5,7 hemi cores just wondering what kind of power potential ,compared to a LA motor. cost to build , the heads what mods have to be made to make good power 600 hp range. not that familar with the new stuff any insight would help, dont want to sink the money in them if it cost a fortune to build compared to the la blocks.
thanks in advance.

Pick them up! The blocks seem to be stronger and even the old (pre 09) castings can be made to flow over 300 cfm. You can buy the newer 09 5.7 heads that flow 300 cfm right out of the box for 600/pair complete with iridium plugs. They will accept a 4" crank.
