Well I for one am very pleased that you are giving one of these transmissions a good beating This tranny deserves it after the beating it has given you over the past few years I have been collecting parts and building transmissions so I can flip them all and sell my race 5-speed to get one of these units. That is if there are any left after the initial run of people on the list are taken care of Good job Jamie Sounds like its actually right around the corner. It's never too late ... unless the quantity will be limited so they are collectors item?

Come to think of it,... I don't remember seeing what the shift pattern is on the 855.
wow, we have been giving this thread bumps for almost 2 1/2 years now...... when can we buy one?
Why bump it? At this point you're either on the waiting list and have a right to call directly and ask what's up or you're a spectator (like me) waiting for real-world feedback that I'm sure will come some day.

I've have a great friend (name deleted) on the "list" over 2 years now, when are you going to produce??? I'm sure folks are getting really tired. I would be and I have no dog in this hunt,(but love to put one behind 5.7 hemi) but it sure would scare the heck out of me if I was on the list, esp. with a DP. I know you're trying to make it PERFECT, but is your trying anything like sending it out and learning from everyone else, make adjustments, send the updates to those that bought as long as they know? That's where you'll learn in earnest. It's just not your combo, but everyone's else's, that is what matters.

most of us are absolutely clueless as to what it takes to do something like design and manufacture a transmission. if those of us without this kind of design and manufacturing experience, and all the trials an tribulations that go along with it, actually understood the process and all it takes, we would be stunned.
that a small, basically one man shop has done this is an amazing feat. even if it never sees the light of day, it is, as far as i'm concerned, the accomplishment of a lifetime.
this isn't a distributor, or an ignition box, where if something goes wrong, you can pop your old one in in 5 minutes and be running again. even if you are good at it, swapping transmissions is an hours long job. and then what do you do with it once it's out? not everyone has the experience or wants to tear into a transmission to replace a part.
so it's hours and hours of work, or hours of work and ship the transmission back to him, where he then has to take the time to tear it down, replace the part, and ship it back.
that's insane.
get it right the first time, as right as can be. don't let it out the door until your are 100% sure it's ready, because even then there will be gremlins.
jamie has nothing but my utmost respect for what he is doing and the way he is handling it. i've talked to him many times lately with other transmission stuff, and this is all stressful as hell to him.

I could not agree more......I have been on the list since there were only 70 people. I will gladly wait instead of having to remove it and send it back if it's no good due to Jamie rushing it out the door.

Well, I want to thank everyone for the kind words. I also want to thank Daty for kicking me while I am down too. Great to know that "they" are alive and well. Daty, no offense to anyone, but I do not follow the practice of others. I don't believe that the end user should test our stuff for us. I am coming to the realization that I am 100% sure that someone is not going to be happy with the trans. Unfortunately, the common walmart mindset nowadays is just ridiculous. I want it yesterday, I don't want to pay anything for it, I want it to hold 1000 HP, I don't want to cut anything and I want it to sound like a Mercedes transmission. (not even hear it turning)
Believe me, I am not in this for my health. EVERY day that goes by, it rules my every thought. We are doing our best here. I am not holding a gun to anyone's head forcing you to buy it. There are plenty of other "Bolt In" options out there... Does anyone in their right mind think I want to have all this time and money out there like this not to produce a unit? SERIOUSLY!????
Now an update, We received our revised design 5th reverse interlock back. It is FINALLY within spec, so we are planning to begin building as soon as we receive them. ONCE AGAIN!!!!!! I AM NOT A FORTUNE TELLER!!!! I was told a month. So, when they are in my hand, We will start building. Sorry for the tangent, but enough is enough already! I understand everyone's frustration, I am quite sure, yours pales in comparison to mine. Also, the list is up to 269 people now. Jamie
