We did. We modified castings slightly. We are also vacuum resin sealing the cases now just to make sure!

That is good to hear

Have you figured out a final price for these yet please ?
Have you got a breakdown of costs, or an itemized list..... Thanks so much, great to see you are nearly there

I can't wait, I'll finally be able to afford to drive to Carlisle again

Wegner,
I would love to, but my boat already has a device to keep it stationary in one spot. Thanks for asking though!

Matt,
We have sold quite a few road course A-833 units to people. Mostly for use over in Europe. Customers have been very happy. We use our aluminum case and a 2.47 23 spline gearset.

Hemiken,
The cost for the unit is going to be $4295.00 including shifter mechanism and linkage. I'm not sure what type of an itemized list you are looking for. Are you talking like:
Main Case: $XXX.00
Cluster gear: $XXX.00
etc.
???
Jamie

Hi Jamie,

What i meant was how much for the gear box, how much for the shifter to suite the 5 speed, how much for the bell housing, how much for the clutch assembly, etc, etc.
How much for a complete unit and what comes with it

Thanks mate,
Kenny.

He said the price was for the transmission, shifter and linkage. If you need other parts the price will depend on what parts you choose. You can find prices on his web site.

If I understand correctly - if you already have a 4spd in the car all you would need is the trans , mechanism & shifter .

Should bolt right in . Maybe a clucth since it's apart .

That sounds cool!

What else makes an 833 a "road course" tranny, other then gears/alum case mentioned above?
Not sure if address previously, can you install or are their provisions for lube external cooling ports in the 5 spd for road course apps?

Torture testing Passon Performance Products
ummm I just ran a check of my log book

1000 track miles on the Passon alum case 4 sp overdrive and 750 track miles of Passon alum case 2.66 1st gear 4 speed. Another 750 track miles of an iron case 2.66 1st gear Passon 4 speed

Speeds range between 70-130 mph, time under duress 50 minutes per session 4x/day/2 days, no problems, no temp issues, no issues period, no vibration, just lots of fun.

Track is 3.4 miles
1000 miles is 294 laps...
750 miles is 221 laps

Everyone please be patient with the process of creating the the best 5 speed transmissions. Jamie will not release the beast until it's 101 percent right.

Unlike others in the business the Passon products work because:
Quality goes in before the name goes on.

Quality and integrity will be remembered long after the price is forgotten.

Hey Drag Stripper,

You think my eyes are painted on or something mate, it is called an explanation to what he asked; I'm not sure what type of an itemized list you are looking for.

How about you stick your nose somewhere else and read before you post replies, i wasn't asking you anything. I was talking to Jamie and he cleared it up...............

Hey Ken, if you'd bothered to read the entire thread you wouldn't be asking stupid questions and being a pest. You've got a PM!

I read the lot and with extra work and fine tuning of parts - R&D, comes extra costs involved in production. Which can lead to extra cost for the consumer. Your PM was pathetic.

Sorry Jamie, back to your progress now buddy

So if I'm reading correctly you are planning to release sometime around may-June?

How long will the shift throw be? Shorter than stock I hope.

I am hoping before that, but that is a realistic time frame. The throw is MUCH shorter than stick. As a reference, with a factory '68-74 A Body handle. TOTAL throw from 1st to 2nd is 3 1/2 inches. This is a VAST improvement over stock.
