We do have a waiting list. Tom is right, it is growing. This is comforting knowing that we have some support for this HUGE chance we are taking here. As for the Inland handle. I will attempt to make a modified tower for the Inland handle. If it works, great, if not, hey we tried. As for an Inland shifter ball with the correct shift pattern, You guys are on your own there!

Jamie there is an adapter already available , it should work if an original handle with fit the new shifter .

Jamie,

Two questions -

1. Are all of the bolt holes helicoiled?

2. Are you sure this will fit in an early A-body? I was underneath my 66 Barracuda yesterday and it looks to me like the area where the midplate bolts on might be too bulky for the early A tunnel.

Thanks!

Jamie, Thanks for all the infos and to have put me in your waiting list, I don't know if I'll be the first one to have one in France, but, will all the reading I've found on this product, I think the time I'll have to wait will worth it!

A big Thanks from oversea

lilcuda,
The bolts are not helicoiled. There is no need to do this. The aluminum that we are using of good. PLUS, no one should be turning bolts in and out on it. Disassembly mean NO WARRANTY. We will be working on fitment of the '64-66 A body cars next.
Thanks,
Jamie

Jamie,

I have no intention of disassembling the trans if I buy one, but if I remember correctly, in order to get the trans into and out of an early a body, you have to take the shifter off. It's been 15 years since I had mine out, so my memory might be foggy. I was just concerned about wear of the bolt holes in the event the shifter does need to come off to R & R the trans.

How do I get on the list to find out when you will have a trans that fits the early a?

Thanks!

Do you have to remove the shifter mounting plate to get the trans out of the car ?

Question Jamie- I assume the bearings in the transmission are common units available from Timken?

Sorry, I have'nt read all the posts here...
Are you offering Big block and small block bell housings
in the kits or are those going to be separate costs?

Also I keep hearing A-Body and E-Body...
Are there going to be 68-74 B-Body kits?
For both Big block and Small block available (all years 68-74)?

Thanks

I don't think so. I forgot about that. Been a while since I had the trans out (15+ years!)

It uses the stock bellhousing so if you already have a car set up for manual trans it will bolt right in .

I'm pretty sure he has a 69 Down B body tail , 70 up B body uses the same tails as an E body .

Gotta have the hemi 4 speed set up though to bolt right in (18 spline) i believe.

May be expensive, but it's nice to have more (maybe better) choices. I've always wanted a 5-speed Dart.
