Has anyone every retro fitted dodge stealth or 3000gt front bucket seats into a classic mopar? I have the oppurtunity to either pick up stealth seats or 03 stratus r/t seats this week to fit into my car with the newly built 440 and keisler 5 speed id like to have a little support in the seats. As it is currently i actualy have custom upholstered 73 challenger seats in the front of my roadrunner. I recently purchased 72 challenger will need the seats recovered any way so i was thinking retro fit the stealth or stratus seats upholstered to match my seats and use my current seats in the chally and have the back upholstered to match. Sorry if i lost anyone or everyone. attached is a pic of my current seats. Thanks for the help and opinons on what to do in advance

I recovered the stock buckets in my '72 demon. They look great and feel really comfy. I also put in a nice driveline and big torsion bars with modern radial tires. The car corners nice and flat now but I have to have a deathgrip on the wheel to avoid flying into the passenger seat.

If your budget allows a retro cover to match the car on a modern bucket with side bolsters that would be awesome. Just make sure you fit the seats well and they fit the car well size wise. They will compliment what sounds like a really fun setup.

Good luck

I'm using the seats out of a Supra in my Challenger. What you will run in to is that your Road Runner floor is not flat. The side by the trans tunnel sits approx 1.5" lower. Most import and late model seats are designed for flat floors so the are not a direct bolt in. You will need to fab a riser for the one side, and most likely have to offset the mounting bolts as the old mopar seats also use a pretty narrow bolt pattern.

I put 300M buckets im my 67 cuda. I had to weld in a new flat section of floor pan. It is great to ride with modern comfort in a classic. The only pic I have is before it was finished.

No back seat because the roll bar from racing is still in the car less the tube to the front floor board

I've got a full set of seats from a 300M I was going to drop in the hot rod. the rear seat would require LOTS of rework since it's too narrow and too tall.
The problem with the fronts is that they do not fold forward.
How do you get into the back seat of an E-body with those seats?
I was hoping I could power them forward and go vertical with the back and hope for the best. The other option was to move the seat back and recline it fully. That would allow you to climb over the seat.

None handy at the moment, but I'll try to take some this week and post them up.

Thanks I appreciate that I'm going to try and pull some measurements on the stealth seats this week and see if they appear they would work. Just wanting to see how these cars look with a sportier modern seat in the front.

Okay, here are some pics.

I've got a 92 Stealth and will agree the seats are nice and a huge improvement over the 1970 versions and very comfortable with good support. However, I chose the Supra seats because they have better lateral support for my skinny bod comapred to the Stealths. I wanted some Viper seats, but the $50 I got the Supra seats for made the $500 Viper units seem not so nice.

My car is still a work in progres, so the seats have not been refinished, the panels replaced, or carpet installed. They also appear to sit fairly low in the car, but the overall position feels higher than the original buckets.
