pretty sure it fits, but I think some folks have to run a drop base on the air filter/cleaner.

I have 70 Challenger, R/T hood (bulge type), Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake with Edelbrock carb and stock dual snorkel air cleaner. About 3/4" to 1" of clearance, air cleaner to hood. It's close but works fine. Running this way for over two years now and NO problems at all.

Hope this helps, but I would measure closely before slamming the hood regardless. I used a wad of clay in several places on top of the air cleaner and closed hood slowly and progressively until sure of clearance.

I use it on my 70 Callenger 440 w/a drop base and 3 in element. Not a lot of spare room but it works. I do have the sport hood.

I jave a 71 challenger stock flat hood.
I am running a 408 small block with an air gap. I have a drop base with a 1spacer under the air cleaner "clear the throttle linkage" i have about 1 inch of clearance under the hood but i run poly locks on my motor.

Thanks Guys
good point, I plan to use a stock kick down linkage, and just realized this might be a problem.

I am running an RPM Performer on a 440 with a Proform carb in a 71 Chally with the Rallye hood. The air cleaner has about a 1.5" drop base on it. I have only enough room for a hex nut to hold down the air filter top or I touch the bottom of the hood and I do not have any insulation under there. (I know, it's not a Cuda)

Assuming you're talking an RB motor--no it won't, at least not with the stock air cleaner.
I too run a 440/eddyRPM/Holley carb and I have to use a pretty deep drop base to clear a 3" filter.

Stock air cleaner will sit too high.

Sorry, should have been a little clearer with my response. Mine's a "B" engine and has about 1" clearance. Makes sense that the "RB's" then would not have enough clearance.

Drop base can be an issue with the stock kickdown rod, but it can be done if you use a 1/2" riser below the drop base (edelbrock part avail at most A.P. Stores). this negates 1/2" of what you're gaining with the drop base to begin with, though. going with a Lokar cable setup creates the room needed, but gets away from the stock look. At the very least, you could wrap the lokar cable in a black sheath (thinking shrink wrap) to make at least blend in (???).

Not a Cuda, but might help.

Standard kickdown linkage, but slightly modified.

I'm running a 383 in my 71 Challenger, with an Eddy Performer RPM and a 750 dp Holley. I'm currently running a drop base air cleaner with a low 1.5-2" filter and K&N Xtreme style top flow lid. I can't see any way this is going to be within 2" of fitting. I was previously running a T/A hood and switching to an R/T hood.

Any suggestions? Surely someone else here has this combo eng/manifold/hood.

thanks.

Update, even though nobody responded. An Eddy RPM Performer on a 383 with an R/T hood WILL fit. I don't know how but it fits.
