Need a recommendation on a clutch that will hold at the track but be drivable on the street.Took my 70 Challenger with 472 hemi to the track. Ran 11.57 at 118 and then totally smoked the clutch on the next run launching at higher RPM. Was a Mcleod single disc and PP.

Thanks
Jeff

I use Centerforce dual friction. Light pedal and hooks well in all three aplications. 84 dodge 440 4.11 and 35 inch tires truck pull, sand drag and general 4wheel. First one lasted 10 years with abuse like a kid was driving it, oh I was. Second is a corvette sized C/F D/F for my 5speed 422ci aluminum flyweeled Duster 3.23 gears. Drove it hard launched in 3rd on street by mistake once smoked the 275/60/15 bfg drags. is still in excellent condition. Last is THE FAMILY TRUCK 3/4 ton 4.11 geared 200 4x4 37inch tires its used for fourwheeling, truck pulls, dump runs, dog running and generally treated like Crap but with a healthy 360 and 445 NP trans no granny. I like'em like'em alot treated me well the first time and every time since... Duster ran 12.2 2.0 60 at 116 mph. 3200#

What clutch were you running (part #'s)? How many miles of street driving did you have on the clutch? I do know that 18 spline CF clutches have been on backorder forever with no release date.

That's good to know. I was thinking about changing over to an 18 spline this winter.

Currently running a CF DF behind a 560HP/585TQ 451". No issues so far...
