Dumb question, but would turning the hat on the blower towards the windshield help in a ran storm?
In terms of reliability, adding the blower also gives you several more points of failure. Would you run any electronics to reference the timing curve to the boost or keep it simple and set the timing like normal? Also, I am going to assume the huffer would require two carbs and the N/A setup would be a Dominator?
I thought about doing something like the turned around hat(actually I was thinking a clamp on unit with a couple of sweep back inlets aiming back and down) to separate the rain and air.... right at the moment I am leaning towards the N/A BUT I sure would like to see the blower on it..... plus if I went blower I would have to cut one of my old W-5 tunnel rams to make the intake

But there is always something to be said for a large belt driven accessory hanging out of the hood. Tactical or practical ? Show or Go ? Being the coolest looking car being driven on the trailer after the first round is no kind of fun. I know .......... daily driver etc. I'd go with N/A and a single four barrel , but I do love the look of a big ol' huffer hanging out in the breeze.

from blower base to top of carbs is 13".i am not sure how low you can cut the TR intake.it would be interesting to see how you would do the build on boost.have you no interest in a blowthru?
I thought about going twin turbo but the 2 I have are too small for a 408ci.... I decided I'll just go N/A and try to keep the cowl scoop low for the street driving... I know my scoop on the race car is a pain in the butt driving in the pits

Mike, I would leave it NA, I am quite sure with the proper selection of part's you can build a combo that will do exactly what you want.
Really all I need is 525 hp if I come in at 2800# but I would like to make some nice torque

For whatever my opinion is worth, blowers to me always belonged on Gassers or Fuel cars; on street cars especially they look too blingy ("Lookatme, lookatme!"). The less blingy a fast car is, the more impressive it is to me, and a 10.80 Rampage is plenty cool in its own right. I would think if you underdrive a blower, a reasonable CR would be less of a problem, if you want to play with it later.
If I did go with the blower it would have been under driven 5%... yeah I wanted something different but its also something to look around all the time and that does become a problem on the street but they sure look cool... so I'm going N/A just to make it simple... with 525 hp it should run 10.0 so I can detune it or run a mech throttle stop for the 10.80 but with the rules I will only need to run about 10.95 during the week and then the last day they subtract .1 from the weekly average so I would have enough left in it to pick up the pace

Mr. P, don't forget pictures and/or video when you get it finished. I'm sure a lot of people here would like to see the finished product.
