Oh boy, I forgot about that auction ! there were some way cool cars at that one, there was a Hemi R/T coronet there as well if I remember right a '68 car, the American stuff sold off pretty cheap as well, I will have to see if I can find the aucion catalogue and see just what was there...

Alex, was that the red/white interior 68 Hemi Coronet that Ian Franklyn owned? Now in Oxfordshire I think. I didn't know that came from the estate sale. I believe Alan Tansley's 69 Hemi Charger did though?

Yeah, the car is up here though I think, just getting ready for a full on resto. Alan's car was in the auction, man he did a lot of work to get that car back to it's former glory!

Will hopefully be posting some other pictures of a Daytona after this weekend. Possibly 2 different Daytona's. However they won't be vintage shots just cars that I have known for most of my life. and with both of them this will be the first time i've seen either one of them since the early 80's.

I didn't make it to see the Daytona this weekend. Gentleman with the car had some things to take care of in th family on saturday. So i didnt pester him with wanting to come by. He was nice and called me back and said that I am more than welcome to stop by anytime i'm in town. well that isn't very often as its 1 hour away, but i'm sure i can swing out that way for a Wing car. Also didn't get to see Bill's daytona when i was in St. Louis either, spent the day deciding if i wanted to sell my 69 instead of going through with fixing it.

Well you know where it is now. And who has it .Schedule a visit and tell us how it went.

I'm going to give him a call here tonight, and see if maybe he will be home this weekend. I don't think I can talk my wife into going out there one night this week, so i'll have to wait till the weekend. I just can't wait to see it again. I mean i know its just another Daytona, but its my dad's old Daytona. I have memories as a child riding in that car.

Update here, going to take a look at the car on Saturday. HOpefully that is as the weather is supposed to be nice, and I'm hoping that I don't get stuck working a full day on saturday. I'll drag the camera to work and then head off to see the car after work.

for posting the pictures of that poor daytona for me yes the car was for sale at the time of the pic for 6000.00 those pics were taken by a friend of eli martin? from cincy he said they were taken at a guys house who made and sold repo wingcar parts in NC i thought it was ted janecks but now i know he doesnt live in NC THE CAR WAS JUST PULLED OUT OF WHEREEVER it was sitting a couple days before the pics were taken the white stuff on the ground aound the car is ice not snow if you look at the driver side thats a tree trunk thats hanging off the door that had grown between the handle and the door im sorry but i dont know the vin or any other info on the car i know eli was there to by parts off the guy and this guy tagged along

Keith, that's a pretty crazy story about the Daytona. It sure looks like it had a hard life. I'm hoping that someone came along and bought it and restored it right. Thanks again for sharing the pics!

Maybe Doug can weigh in on this one. I think when I was on the phone with him he mentioned a Daytona that had sat for so long it had a tree growing up between the door handle of the car. It might have been another car.
