Getting the windows tinted on my new charger tomorrow, should I go 55% lighter or 35%darker all around or a split. I know you can't tint more than 70% on the fronts,But its a black car and it gets hot in there, so which would be the best,D.

You cannont legally add any film to the front windows. Whatever the factory glass % is, is what your allowed. Been down that road, and wife got that ticket. Still have tinted windows on the drivers... The darker the tint the more likely you're to attract the law's attention.

I go with the lighter tint on the front.

Thanks guys! I was going to go w/the 35% all around but now I'm leaning toward 55% on the sides w/35% on the rear window.D,

Found this pic of my Dak hidding behind the RR, you can see the diff in darkness between the factroy rear doors and the front with a light tint. Been this way for over 8years now, never been hassled. Wife had much darker and got picked right off within a month.

I'm curious, if you tint according to one state, but you drive to an adjacent state with different laws, can they give you a ticket?

The tint (45%?) on my bro's Magnum that's legal in Nevada, got us pulled over in San Diego last yr. Cop said they pull everyone over w/ dark windows. No ticket, only a warning.

I ended up going w/ 35%,you can still see in the car and out the other side, time will tell if one of us gets pulled over( probably the wife).I told my wife to look at the two tints that I was looking at(she dropped the car off)and decide if the 35% was too dark, she did'nt think it was... so there ya go.Thanks again,D.

My dad has his side rear and rear windows so dark you cannot see in them unless your face is pressed against the glass... never had a problem

By law you can only have the rear quarter windows and rear window tinted. Once the tint goes in, I was told it is mandatory to have a passenger side door mirror installed on the vehicle.

my 69 has the factory tinted windows but I put Limo tint on the rear half and the front windshield had that aftermarket purple tint at the top
