Looking for some of slips from the all out passes on the car. Dont seem to have any here but we have not run the car all out since Vegas this last year and rarely do it at all anymore.

Anyway I did find this S/ST pass and thought I would share. No real point here otherthan to post up a slip from the car on the stop. I loose a good deal of MPH on the stop but I think this is the fastest pass on the car at 10.90. Anyway love to hear what the opions are on it, just for fun I'm bored waiting on the Turkey

That is pretty cool the track puts the driver's name on the timeslip along with the car number.

You have to love 158 mph on a 10.90 run...
What do you remember the mph is on a all-out run?

It looks like the other driver was really holding a lot (sand bagging), as shown when he ran it out after red lighting.

That is the fastest slip I have at 10.90. Lots of 155ish ones, that is more typical. All out I know I have been 168 and change, my son insists it has been 169 and change. He read on another post that I listed 168 and 157 on the stop. He told me we had been faster on both. That was what prompted me to look. Hate when he proves me wrong

The names are nice. That was at a National Open. But they usually have our names on the slip at Sac and Infineon.

We all sand bag I just missed the set up a bit

What's really impressive is the back half of 44 mph.

Mine goes 112 mph in the 1/8 and 147+ @ 10.90.. So I'm only picking up 35 mph.

But Jeff Jackson picks up 47 mph in the back half..

Oh well.. back to the drawing board..

Chris..

I'm suprised at the 60' times you guys run. I thought it would be faster even with the car tamed down. One of these days I would like to try a run in your class. Get the jump on the guy on the front end, only to have him come in screaming like a jet fighter on the back end. Man thats gotta be crazy! Does anybody race 10.90 class footbraking all out? -Tom.

Tom,
Plenty of guys have went rounds in SST footbraking and running all out, usually adding or pulling out weight as the weather changes. It's hard to do if you're traveling to different tracks, but at your home track, if you bracket race often, it can work.

Back when Scotty was chasing the MPH thing in his Camaro, he was killing it hard, and early, to get a big run... This is a pass from May 5th 2007:

1.978 60'
5.530 330'
7.696-117.60 1/8
9.450 1000'
10.896-159.76

42 in the back.

JJ hits the 1/8 at like 103, only runs 148, but makes a HARD move when the 2nd stop/override? comes off at 1000', seen quite a few smart 145-152 racers take the bait and start scrubbing early, only to have a wheel hung on 'em.

I DID NOT sell you that motor to go 10.90's! That little sucker needs to have the coals laid to it, not any of this on and off the throttle stuff?
Maybe, with your next car, you will be able to go "Heads-up" racing.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Go Raiders! (Sorry, I had to do it)

Al, I like seeing old time slips and checking them against that online DA calculator I use to see how close it is to numbers at the track. this was only off by less than 100' if that.

Greg, I said I missed the set up some. That day we ran .905, .902, .901, .900, and lost in the semis with an .894. The 10.900 had a .001 light as well. We actually had the car dialed well that day. To be honest I am perfectly happy with the .011 light. I do not usually try to hit it much harder than that.

B1, It is a perfect Super Street motor. We do run it out once in awhile just for fun. It's all fresh and new now with new cam, pistons and lifters. We will run it out a few times to make sure it is good to go. Proabably only gonna be 1/8th mile stuff as the T&tT days this timie of year the track aint the best. But if it does anything noteworthy will let you know.

Tom-I think you need to come try S/ST racing. I enjoy the heck out of it. Your car is actually a very good set up. You will be high 120's on the stop as you are usually .6-.7 under the number. You should come give it a try. Lots of ways to skin a cat.

Billy-Well we need you back out there. I hope you can make it back out. Or come dial in my heap and give me some pointers, lord knows I need them.

Chris-Jeff and I are usually within a MPH or so. You know it is just the way we have the cars set up. I know he can go 160 but has slowed it down. Someday I will get to line up against him, would like to compare the way the cars are next to each other. You are pretty well aware of the issues I had gettign down the track that weekend. We changed everytrhing on the car trying and only made it down twice. With a completely different set up here is one of my slips from Phoenix. We were killing it more off the line and trying to get the stop on earlier to avoid the issues we were having, still did not have it right but we were close. Just goes to show how much you can change things and still get a similar result. Oh yeah the altitude there also dont help

Well it aint all about MPH. Jackson tells me that all the time. If it were JJ would be a dominant car, wait maybe he is

Fred, the info on the slip as far as weather is what my Altronics spit out. I agree always interesting to comapre data. One thing I have alwasy wondered is where does drag times get thier info? As we all know eveyones weather station spits out different info, the key is to only use what yours says

JD you are chipping away at it. But honestly it aint all about the MPH, but it cant hert huh I know when I race those 119mph cars it dont seem like much of an advantage thats for sure.
