I mostly ran open comp this past season and some footbreak races. I plan to run the points in open comp next season and a few 8.00 1/8 index in Ga. I also like to try to do a little bit of grudge racing on test and tune night. http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac293/mphsmitch/kelstruck2-1.jpg

BigSqueeze and 602Heavy....i will tell you right now, this thread was not started because of either of you,.....not at all,
I dont post on here much, but i read quite a bit, lurking, and sometimes the "advice" on here just kills me. People want to know why Mopars are not at the front of heads up racing??? I can tell you this, because they are too blind and brand loyal to the point of ??? They refuse to see what the best trans and rear are....Menawhile Ford and GM racers use the best parts availible and thats it....less brand loyalty, How manny mustangs you see with small Block Chevys???? A lot in my area. This is just an example, the people that praise Dana rear up and down kill me, they rather use a heavy dump truck rear end rather than a ford BASED/design rear thats light, has plenty of parts availible cheap/used. NO instead they rather use that truck rear that takes a massive amount of labor to change the gears ?????
FLAME ON....
At least we have a cool place to argue over all this stuff...MOPARTS
I post alot... but one thing you will never see me post on is nitrous... I've never ran it but I do have a kit hanging on the wall... I dont know anything about it

Here is a scenario for you. Been racing off and on since '75 or so. Always look to go faster, not really important to race or win, just improve performance. Relatively small amount of seat time, no trophies, made it down to 5 once. My 4 speed 68 Cuda HAS NEVER BEEN ON TRACK, however it has the 3rd set of Caltrac bars that were ever made for a mopar application. Was following stock elim for quite a while seeing how those guys did it and trying to get better "hook" and suspension control than the SS spring mopar design. Back then, I got deterred from marketing my own leaf springs due to liability/financial issues. Plus those "Bars" were something for the GM/Ford crowd and the few times I displayed them they were frowned upon by many purists. Funny thing looking at the cars now. My Aspen had an encounter with the left lane wall at Norwalk a couple yrs back and is still in rehab with a "no return to work" exclusion for the foreseable future. I have crewed on friends TAD for a season and some others. Race or not, appreciate all who try to help others on here, regardless of point of view. Yeah I'm one of those Dana dump truck performance geeks.

I have never sit in a racecar in my life. Would not have a clue what a tree or cutting a light is. Know nothing about crossing a finish line broadside at 170+. Can not imagine doing a full 1/8 mile on the bumper with no wheelie bars destroying a brand new Stroud Chute that has never been deployed.
OK OK I'm lying my butt off
What is a Dana 60? Messed with a few dump trucks and never saw one. Saw a bunch of those front loading type differentials in them though. Isn't a 9" Ferd a front loader. Oh they would fold up with any weight in the bed. Would have to brace them up. I must be dumb as dirt just built a dana 60 and put it in the truck I am building. I did warn him that the gears ratios are much more plentiful in a 9". The pinion is low which is great for a low crank height. Customer would not have paid me if and Ferd parts were used. This truck will run better with the dana and the 727. Guess that's dumb too as all the smart guys run Powerglides. Guess those record setting comp Elliminator guys are dumb too running torqflites.

I know how to turn a stock hood into a cowl hood with it. And if anyone asks how to do it, I'll tell them!

I have been racing since the 70's myself, but I have never seen anything like yesterday before at any Race-Track. They have a lot of Big $$$ Bracket races at MMP so yesterday they were having a T&T for everyone to dial there cars in for the Super 7 series race( 2 $7,000 races Saturday 1 $7,000 race Sunday) at the end of the month. So I was loaded up & down there in time to be the 1st one in the gate.Oh heres the good part they had a Freak-Nik Saturday,Big Grudge racing and Big-Time Parting!!!! Well the people not only enjoyed it,They Trash The Place They broke out windows tore down fences, tore up the bath-rooms,they were not happy with all the trash they throwed on the grounds so they turn over trash cans and pulled trash put of the dumpsters. This track is owned by Mr George Howard(The Million $$$$ Race)and run by his brother Mr Jim Howard who treat the Sportsman(Bracket& Heads up Racers) like they are John Force. They take PRIDE in there Race-Tracks and make them a 1st class Race-Track for us Racers. If you hear your Tracks talk about a Freak-NiK or any other kind of Party for the fans you might want to have a talk with them, before their track gets TRASHED!!!! I thought this would be a good place to post this as all of us on this post are Real Drag-Racers
