I have a 66 BelvedereII that I'm converting to power steering. I got the steering column and I purchased a Power Steering gearbox from the local parts store. The Gearbox was for a 68 Charger but my buddy told me it would bolt right up. It does bolt up and all but the Pittman arm is too small. The length is fine but my pittman arm shaft on the power steering gearbox is slightly bigger. Anyone have a used one or where can I get one?

If it's not too late get a later year box with the larger diameter pitman arm. Parts are much cheaper and easy to find.

i been looking and they seem to start using the larger diameter in 73. So will a 73 pittman arm for a charger work on my setup?

It sounds to me like they sold you the wrong steering gear. Until 1973 A and B bodies used the same size sector shaft (output) but full size cars used a larger one. All cars used the larger size for power steering starting in '73. It was probably just a boxing mixup.

The box is for a 69 full size dodge that they sold me. So what Pittman arm do I need to get? They sold me one for a Cbody car...So do I get a Cbody pittman arm?

I don't believe the C Body arm will work at all in a B body. You need to get the proper B Body box and pitman arm........

Yep, they sold you the wrong box. There is a pitman that will work as Firm Feel has been pushing the large-sector boxes for this app. for a while now. If your pitman is good, just make them swap you for the right steering gear--NOT for a full size car, tell them what your car is and the correct year. If your pitman is toast, keep the steering gear they sold you and find the large-sector pitman that fits. I think the app. is either A or B-body, '73-up POWER STEERING. You could call firm feel and ask but they'd want to sell you one and probably not just tell you the part number.

It arrived today and fit perfect! It was $25 to my door brand new. It was for a 73 Charger but it fit my box for my application. Mix and match is one more reason I love MOPAR
