i had this problem, we managed to machine the bell. QT gave us the CAD info to machine it apparently all the new bell's are machined to fit.

Yes As I know. Keisler had some quicktime bellousings that didn't have this provision in it. They rectified the problem with the aluminum belhousing. it would be great if you could post some pictures of your T56 install, tunnel and crossmember modifications.Yours looks great too

Before the motor goes in, I wanted to do most of the sheet metal work the engine compartment needed. Looks like the LH inner fender and the upper cowl needs to be replaced.I spent the day drilling spot welds and carefully removing the sheet metal with a hand chisel. This is as far as I got today.

Today I spent the day grinding down welds and filling holes, I Mocked the vintage air unit to the firewall. Instead of drilling holes I took a piece of 1/8 X 1" X 12" welded 2 studs so I can hang the unit.

I moved The Cowl to inner fenderwell bars so I can gain some tire clearance. What I did was mounting them thru the lower cowl and into the lower inner kick panel support. It is supported there with 1/8 plate and also the upper cowl where it comes thru the firewall.

I cut out and made some patches for the lower cowl. After I carefully fitted and welded them. I blasted and coated the cowl rust bullet, Scuffed the surface then epoxy primer. I used weld thru primer on all areas that will be welded.

I drilled the panels for rosett type spot welds ,I added more the the factory. The AMD upper cowl and inner fender are dead on needing only minor tweeking. I plan on welding the full seam and then blend it into the lower cowl.I left the end were the hood hinges weld to unwelded for now as I will weld them in when I fit the hood to the fenders.
