I have been 1/8 mile racing for about 4 years now. Always wanted to try 1/4. So Virginia Motorsports Park had a TNT today & I hauled up there to give it a try. I installed some used 30 inch slick to tame my 4.10 gears down so my wimpy 318 could have a chance. Car pulled all the way down the track. I had to let out & then back in the last 200 feet due to top end tire shake. Still it ran a best of 13.88 94 MPH. I didn't leave too hard & I left the plug in my hood scoop so I'm thinking it would have a bit more in it. Thinking 13.6? something. Not too bad for a very milde & well used ole 318. By the way the 1/8 #'s where pretty close to waht I run with the 26 inch slicks so I may stay with a 30 inch tire. To me they look too big & the old black steel wheels are not the correct offset. Tell me what you think. Should I get a better set of wheels & stay with the 30's or just stick to 1/8 mile & the 26 inchers.

Thanks for the compliment Paint is nearly 10 years old & the pics make it look much better than it is. I need to repaint in in & out. Still runs good....just slow.

Looks good, runs good! You run about the same times in 1/4 that my '68 383 Roadrunner did when it was new.

Thanks. I didn't think it would run that good. Its would be neat to have the time to try & work it down to a low 13.
