Happy Birthday Brian.. and very nice write up on your work.. I've read it before and got some valuable info from it..

The only numbers I saw were these..
Lift Int. Ex.
.200 139 102
.300 205 145
.400 267 183
.500 322 218
.600 358 242
.700 381 258
.800 387 268

and I assumed these were after you've done some work, but before you did anything major.. Should I use these numbers to reference an ootb set?

Yeah I'd say close enough...I think I've seen true OOTB from Koffel max out at 356cfm.

I think one thing thats confusing is Brodix claims 390 cfm OOTB. And that number has been on their web site and catalogs for years.

I guess it depends on what you mean by OOTB. When I received mine OOTB they had all kinds of casting flash and were kind of ruff. It took about 2 hours to get everything smoothed out.

I think Brodix claim is made on a little bit of cleanup work being done.

Then you don't want to know what Al sold the top end off his old B1 for......

My prob with B1's is similar to what we lived through with our W5's. Even if someone GAVE you a set, by the time you build a combo around them to take advantage of what they are capable of, you will have spent a chunk of change in my world.

Don, Koffels usually has a Xmas special starting after 12-01 each year. I bought thier complete package(complete heads minus the springs, keepers and retainers), valley cover, rocker covers, rocker assemblys, intake and gaskets, every thing you need for the top of the motor except a distributor ) several yaers ago duriing the special I had Koffels port them, they flow 470 CFM at .700, .800 and more at .900 Now if the economy will pick up some so I can afford to finish buying the rest of the parts to make a new World block 541 or 572 motor I'll be a happy camper

If they are original B1's and flow 470 put the spark plug in and flow them again.

I am sorry, I like Koffel's, but man their numbers are outrageous. It kind of makes them look silly. NO B1 Originals or M/C's are gonna go 470cfm.

We took our M/C's to another flow bench and there was definately a difference in flow benches....Koffel's bench 468, Jensen's bench 443.

I do want to say though, the heads made power and we ran w/ the top dogs on most days

Dwayne Porter is who did my heads. This was a basic clean them up, make then run out of the box. This was done for a street motor.

Cut and paste what he sent me.

here is what it did, tested on a 4.375 bore, clay radius port entry, no exhaust flow tube:

lift---I/E
.100--73.1/61.8
.200-154.6/106.2
.300-230.3/155.6
.400-290.0/206.1
.500-334.9/230.3
.550-356.1/241.9
.600-374.3/248.3
.650-386.7/251.5
.700-380.5/251.5
