A few years ago I was at Mopar Nats. and there was a guy selling Tachometer Holders that went on the metal behind the plastic of the dash and clipped around under the metal. I have been looking for this for a while now. If any of you could help me out that would be great.

Anyone that uses this bracket, does it leave an indent on the dash pad [is it a tight fit?]

Also, is it sturdy for hard shifting? TIA

I use his A-Body bracket with a mechanical (cable-driven) Jones tach. I had to build an extension to the bracket so the cable would clear the edge of the dash, so my tach sits out an additional 2 inches.

Bearing in mind my tach sticks out further than his stock bracket, it does bounce a little with bumps in the road, but not enough to worry about. It stops flexing within a few seconds, no problem reading the tach. You could put a foam wedge underneath (on top of dash pad) if you need it firmer.

It does not leave a mark on the pad,

had the acme one in my dart. Pure garbage. No it doesn't fit tight. Plus it isn't made of thick enough metal. Every damn bump in the road the tach would bounce off the windshield. Couldn't stant the thing. Pulled out and sold it.

It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
