The Charger 500 and Charger R/T did get the glove box light, map/courtesy light and ash receiver light as standard equipment.

The only reason I ask is because I can not for the life of me find a glove box liner in black that doesn't have a hold in it and Ive looked at 20+. also to add to my suspicion is that my roadrunner does not have the A01 ligh group, but the ash tray I took out had the light in it and Im very certain that my car was pretty much all original prior to me taking it apart, not to mention why would someone install an ash tray light later I thought... but who knows...

Does your RR have fender mounted turn signal lights or the ignition light on the steering column?

to me it's boring, but i went and looked at a car just to help you out. It was a 1972 satellite no light package. The cigarette lighter had a light but the rest of it had a plate, no maplight. No glove box light, but it had a hole for the light.
On my gtx it has a light package and there's a plastic plug that goes in the hole. I think that all the glove boxs has the hole but they just put in the plastic plug for the light package.

my car doesn't have the turn signals. the fender tag or build sheet does not specify the light package. Im thinking its safe to assume that the cigarette lighter light was standard? mine did not have a map light either. I did see a few white glove box liners that did not have a hole

My 71 Coronet Brougham did have the light group (ashtray and glove box light, and map light, rear door light switches),but did not have fender mounted turn signals.
My 73 Satellite does not have the light group and has no ashtray or glove box light.
Both cars are equipped with the white/clear plastic glove box.No hole or plug in the 73's glove box.
Mopar engineers in their wisdom, designed the wire harnesses for both standard and ralleye to have the extra connections built right in.As the car went down the line, and according to the B sheet, the workers installed the necessary options.
39 years later this makes it easier for us to install the lights we want that the car was not born with,IMO.

I know 71 road runners and GTXs....the black glove box liners had the hole for the light regardless of whether it was installed or not. The ash tray light was not standard. It was also part of the A01 light package.

Also check out the website in my signature (if you're not on there already). It's all about 71-74 Plymouth B bodies.

Hi

Sorry to bother you but since you have looked at so many of these you may find it hard to believe that I can't even find one.

I am in Australia & have a 71 R/T Charger, I want a spare or two so I can install a stereo in the glovebox (will require cutting the liner to install the stereo I want) & preserve the original liner.

The question is can you put me onto someone that might send me one or two. I am happy (of course)to pay all freight costs. There are just very few of these cars in Australia & I cannot find spares as these items generally don't wear out I guess.

Any help would be greatly apprecated.

Thanks

Craig

hi Kevin, my 71 RR has the ashtray light, no glove light or map light. basically no light package. no fender turn lights, no trunk light- its a RR! the Sats and GTX got all the lights. I am adding a glove light and map light though. The map light replaces my rear speaker fader knob. ~Ben

71 road runners could be OPTIONED with the courtesy lights, but they weren't standard.
