Has anyone tried the predator heads from indy yet. I'm thinking about getting them for my 604.

A few here have and should respond . advise you do not buy direct but thru a reputable dealer. there are quite a few here. Indy is known for the worst customer sevice you can imagine.

Yeah, I heard about their customer service. But I was told that the head could flow 520cc's. My cousin in Alston TX ran them when they first came out and had a major melt down. I was wandering if he did something wrong or if they are " poor" heads.

That I can't tell you but Indy just purchased the company. I think 520 CFM is realistic with then right porter.

Thats what I've been told. Sounds like a slant six compaired to a regular indy motor. But..... what does it perform like. I could make my slant six sound like an indy motor with an ounce of nitro in the tank. I am in debate???? Nitro or Predators??????????

They ran 6.93 at MATS, but they said it ran 6.70's at sea level. The heads work. But that motor was a 655.

Muscle Motors and Best Machine have both done a fair amount of Predator engines. The Predator probably has the best hp potential for a wedge head on a 4.800 bore spacing block. The Hemi 99 is a better head but requires an expensive billet block or deck spacers to get the big inches. Wheatcraft's digger and Jackson's door car both haul the mail using the Predators.

IMO if you want to go with a Predator set up contact Steve Gillamn. He is an honest guy and will answer your questions.

Mine flowed 540 CFM with the CNC port job.

Valve train is amazing and does not move ever.

Way more cylinder head than most people can handle .

I can answer all your questions.
What would you like to know?
Yes,the ported version flows 540
Yes,there are cars flying with Predator heads.(The Wheatcraft's,Keith Jackson,Dean-Gogreen)to name a few.
NO the cylinder head did not cause the "meltdown"

Give me a call,I'll give the straight answers,no b.s.

On the same 605 cu in motor, the Predator heads are about 75 HP better than my best Hemi heads were. The really big plus is the valve train geometry. I check valve lash every 12-15 runs, and they just don't change.
