Getting ready to bolt my manual trans to the bell housing but wasn't sure if I needed anti-seize for the bolts since the bellhousing is aluminum. I would think I do but when I checked the service manual it says nothing about it. Just says bolt it up.

I use it any time I'm putting steel bolts into an aluminum casting.

Well, that's what I thought but the manual threw me off. Frank's Hot sauce it is.

Thanks everyone!

The service manual was written 40 years ago. Been some changes over the years.

To be honest, I get a set of dog pointed studs and use them instead of bolts, with anti seize.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

Kevin I agree.I use it on everything.Last 2 shops I worked at I even got the guys there to use it all the time.I told them if it comes back in say 2 years for the same repair it will come apart easy.In Ohio the rust is bad.Only time I dont use it is when lock tite or teflon is used.I even take brake bleeders out all the way and use a dab on them.Rocky

I do the same thing . I also slathered it all over the front bearing assemblies on my 2000 2500 Ram so I don't have to the ball joints the next time I have to replace one .
