Installing Headers and need to shift my engine about 5/16" towards the driver side. The car is a 65 Polara (C-Body), It has new motor mounts from Schumacher and a new transmission mount also. Can I just put a 5/16" shim between the motor mount bracket and the K-Member mount, then lower the engine, or is there a better way of doing it?

Thanks.

In the past, have loosened motor and trans mounts and tugged the motor in the direction I wanted, then tightened everything back up. It worked for me.

I shimmed the one side in my 65 B body.It has all new poly mounts and the right side was too close to the inner fender. Its been like that for 3 years and no problems.Rocky
