Anyone hear of or seen shims in trunklid spacing between bracket and trunklid to move decklid to one side my body man say it looks like a starter shim 1964 dodge

Are you talking about centering the deck lid in the opening? It can be moved by pushing it hard while it is partially open. I just finished aligning all my panels on my 64 Belvedere before final body work. It took a while but everything fits very well.

No shims. Just put a long 2x4 inside the trunk with the lid partially open, protect the edge with a rag and push. Don't use More's Law; if a little bit is good, more is better and too much is just right...

Side to side I wouldn't hesitate to adjust after the car is painted..
