I'm putting a 4 inch crank in my LA- 360 this winter.I would like to start with a cam I have already have. MP509 hyd.,MP528 solid,or the 37/42 solid hughes cam thats in the car now.I really like that cam.The rest of the combo,69 dart,tko-600 w/.64 5th,3.91 gear, hughes pocket ported iron heads,R.P.M. intake,KB 356 pistons that I will do what I need to to make sure that I have quench. This is a street car, and torque down low is inportant, but I don't want a tractor motor. What do you guys think? Mike

That 528 cam is a good one.
your engine sounds like a good one.

If open chambered heads will need to have your machine shop mill the recesses all to the same depth (plus they can and do slope as it's a cast surface) then mockup your shortblock & mike "measure twice" (at least) how much needs to be taken off of the quench pads to get .040" piston to head clearance (want 35-40 making sure of piston rock) then dissassemble & pistons returned to the machine shop then mock em up again & see if you do indeed have .040" then dissassemble & weigh/equalize the pistons (& the rods/bearings/rings if not already done to get a bobweight for balancing. THEN you're ready to go together
