Was wanting to install a car alarm on my 97 Ram.

Thought about doing it myself. Can get alarms for about $ 40.00.

Is this something that can be done by someone that is somewhat handy with cars?

Anyone have a problem trying to install one. I would think you would need a wiring digram to see where to splice into your door locks, etc.

My two cents:

When was the last time you saw a herd of protective, cooperative strangers "running to the aid" of an annoying, bleating car alarm?

If you want to find something that calls your cellphone, great.

Otherwise, just install a hidden switch that disables your fuel pump relay, ignition, etc.

If someone is going to tow it or use a slider, you're screwed anyway

Good advice. Park smart and carry Insurance too.
