a good freind of mine just bought an e body cuda i converted him from a chebby the car has a ladder bar set up with a dana 60 and springs the springs seem to be floating ie just holding the body up anybody ever see a set up like that also would you go with just springs or go coil overs with the ladder bar never saw a set up like this car will be pro street with limited strip duty car just came home will try and post pictures this weekend suggestions???

If you use leaf springs with ladder basr you have to use either a slider or a floater set up on the rear end housing due to the unequal length(usually) of the front half of the leaf springs compared to the ladder bar lengths Google rear end floaters and sliders for picture and explanation of the two

yes. that is how its done with leaf springs.

springs just hold the car up. so be it a leaf or coil it really doesnt matter. leafs are probably heavier though

thanks to you both for the reply we googled it cab and it shed a lot of light on this type of setup look like all we are going to have to do is make a good top shock mount we dont think the stock one will hold up will post pics of mount when we get it fabed up thanks again
