trying to rig up my clutch linkage from scratch...340 4 speed in challenger. is z bar the same as used for big block? What is the correct bracket for z bar ball on bell housing (if one is necessary)? I am not getting this to line up...plenty of parts to mess with...just can't get it. thanks guys mike

Believe Z bars are the same between BB and SB. regardless, you should not have an alignment problem. Pivot ball threads directly into your bellhousing. There is a bracket that mounts around it that is part of the reverse lock out linkage but you don't need it to make your Z bar work. The other end of the zee bar picks up a ball stud that mounts to the frame. The reverse lockout linkage is off set using the afformentioned bracket. This bracket has a plastic bushing that the rev. L/O linkage pivots in. The other end of the lockout linkage picks up a bracket that mounts to the frame that also has a plastic bushing. The reverse lockout linkage is usually more of a pain to get right than the zee bar.

Note: Rev. Lockout linkage is 70 only.

it is a 70, but decided to ditch the reverse lockout. i found a bracket that i believe to be the original. It seems to put the z bar in the right spot. maybe i will get it wrapped up this weekend. thanks for the help.
