I did the same as you, it wouldnt budge.. finally I took a die grinder and cut a couple of grooves in the bearing and then took a punch and hammer and beat / chipped it out...No fun..

Step back and slow down , it take some time to work those things out , if you take wet paper towel and a dowel rod that fits properly and a hammer . keep filling the back side with wet paper towels and use the hammer to push the towels in it will eventually come out i guarantee it if done right . i have used this method for years never had one not come out i believe it is impossible for it not to work because of the hydraulic pressure just keep filling the hole with paper towel that is the deal !

If you have a tap that fits, just keep threading it all the way in. When the tap hits bottom, keep going, and it will force the bushing out. Or, after you've cut the threads, replace it with a bolt and use that to force the bushing out.

It's really no big deal. Take a die grinder and mske a cut lengthwise and it will just about fall out. Done dozens this way over the years with no problem.

Find a piece of rod that is a close fit to the diameter of the pilot bushing. It does not have to be an exact fit but the closer it is the better. Take the grease gun and pump the bushing nearly full. Insert the rod and give it a good whack on the end with a hammer and the grease will force the bushing right out.

Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.

That tap idea is suicide...
I've just used all thread, or a rod, 3/4" extension, something like that, grease and about 3-4 good solid hits. I watched that youtube... I didnt get all that non sense with the bolt, and socket, but it's the same idea...
