Hey guys what options does the "p" mean on a vin for a 70 charger? When I ran the vin it showed it as a premium price class, what does that mean? thanks

Josh

For 1970:

XS = Charger R/T
XP = Charger (500 trim package)
XH = Base model Charger

70 Road Runner 383-4 4 speed FJ5 & black guts
70 Charger R/T 440-4 4 speed FJ5 & white guts

Is an xp vin'd car worth saving if it has been hacked up?

not really. But if it has good parts on it it's worth a few $$.

Same as the 68-9 regular Charger, those were also XP on the vin. The base 70 Charger would have come standard bench front seat, buckets extra cost, empty clock hole on dash unless it was paid extra for, and I think the trim around the taillights was extra for the base model.

XH chargers came with no rear finish panel, no padded door uppers and like mentioned above, no real options.
