I just wondering if Remy starters are any good. I just replaced my stock one out of my cummins with a Remy. Do they last very long? THANKS

I can't speak for recent quality, but they've been around a LONG time and there are billions of cars, trucks, heavy machinery with these starters in use.

On the other hand, if it was, uh, "rebuilt" by "somebody" then it's no longer really a Remy starter. It's something that's been polluted, corrupted, and ill treated by some greasy back room outfit

I did not fool around with a rebuilt one, I just went ahead and bought a new one. Thanks a lot much appreciated.

If you are talking about the starter for a Dodge Cummins engine,they where originally equipt with a Denso starter.More than likely what you have is a Denso starter rebuilt/remanufactured by Remy.As far as how long they will last,that as a lot to do with the overall condition of your truck(battery,cable connection.Do you have to crank on it for any extended amount of time?Do you kill and crank it 20 times a day?
Remy rebuilds/remanufacture all brands of starters& alternators and they have been around for many years and do produce a good unit.Jason
