hate to show my ignorance but I really need to know... while looking at a transmission, which is the input and output for the trans cooler lines? thanks. Ken

The output, to the cooler, on 727/904 is the front connection while the back line near the tail shaft housing is the return.

Front is hot oil from the converter and rear inlet is lube feed.
