I have my 70 b body steering column disassembled, repainted, sensors tested, sleeve bushing replaced and basically ready for reassembly. I did nothing with the coupler, how do i know if it needs a rebuild or not. I do not know what to look for to make this decision.
Thanks

When I did mine, I checked for play while twisting it, it moved a little, so I rebuilt it. I'm not sure if a '73 is the same, but mine was easy.

If there is no rotational play, or slop in it, you can just make sure there is a fair amount of grease in it and get the cover clipped on good and go.

thanks for the replies
I will check for rotation and slop, if not to get the grease into it will require bending the tabbs back and some dis assy - correct. Sorry but this one is new to me.
thanks

If you have one of those needle type adapters for your grease gun, you can slip that between shaft and seal and pump some grease in there. If not, play with the clips.
