A727 does not designate small block or big block; it is simply Chrysler's designation for the trans.

It's Swifty! Swifty, you toad sucker!

I put one in a 73 Dart 2 years ago , I driven about 4 thousand miles with no issues. As far as the install.....take out the seat and carpet , you will have to cut a small piece out of the tunnel to make it wider. Get a new driveshaft, well worth it , I put the control box under the drivers side kick panel.
Just put about 500 miles on it the past weekend
70mph 2500 RPM 3.55 gears.
On of the two best investments I did to the car.

Put mine in my Challenger over 5 years ago. Over 40,000 trouble free miles. Hands down the best upgrade I did to the car. No cutting for me. Just a little air hammer on the passenger side tunnel.

The GV bolts to the rear of the transmission with a new tail housing.

Part No.: 3D0727
Application: TF 727 3-Speed Auto Transmission
Description: Replaces 18 1/2" tail housing.
Comments: Chrysler vans, pickups and mini-motorhomes without driveline park brake.
Price Code B

I don't know where your getting those part numbers from but you want:
Part #3DFS727A

Automatic 3-Speed 727 18" Tailhousing.
Replaces 18 1/2" tailhousing.
60's and 70's muscle cars and street rods.

Are you sure you even have a 727 in your car?
