Just look around. There is a ton of ford 351 junk with the S475 or S480 turbo's makeing over 700hp at the tire.

Just search for S480 dyno...

Or you can look through this thread... it's pretty easy to see an 80mm turbo on a decent motor can make BIG power....

All on edelbrocks...408ci and 245/.565 lift FT cam

Tomorrow ill be cranking up the new mule with my 2 year old Shady Dell 230cc -2's..259/255 .640 lift FT cam with Smith Machine lifters(ceramic faced) (sorry Ryan to let them sit so long), twin 75mm turbos...I am so siked!

Heres a pic from yesterday morn....

Pretty much mostly buttoned up now...just a few minor things to finish tomorrow.

Are some people misunderstanding when I/others are saying the ability to make the power is not a problem, it is the ability for the stock block to handle it...???

Magnum blocks are not as strong as the LA blocks.

"Magnum blocks are not as strong as the LA blocks."

Why? I have been told the other way around, but no one can tell me why.

Who cares... small blocks generally don't break the main webbing anyway... it's usually the cylinder thet splits.

I can tell you with 1000% certainty that the magnum blocks are a nicer casting, and nicer factory machining... that is FOR SURE...

Strength wise, I don't know, but there seem to be quite a few magnum turbo truck motors making pretty good power on stock blocks...

I had my factory magnum block crack between a head bolt hole and a waterjacket hole.

I run a turbo set-up on my 360 ,magnum block stroked to a 408.

I'm glad my Magnum block doesn't surf the internet. I don't want it saying "me too".

Oh yeah. Turbo'd SB here too.

I still say with that cam, head combo 800 is not going to happen. 750 tops. Oh and yes I talked to my buddy w/ the turbo 392 and he's around 1000.

That cam is plenty big... the cam of choice for the ford guys seems to be the old F-303 226/226@.050" .512" lift, hydraulic roller.

Like I said. Search the internet. You don't need to find a 410" w2 motor to compare too. Pretend the ford and chevy badges on the motor don't matter, and just think of it as an engine. Compare turbo's, cams, head flow, etc...

Before you say "it can't, or it won't" look around a little. There are LOTS of them... This has an even smaller turbo, same cam and heads flows 310cfm @.700" (hmmm... sound like a W2?)

Tell me this doesn't make 850fwhp

When I first started talking to my turbo builder and told him my combo (392, ported Eddy heads that flow around 280, .228/.236, .544, 114 lsa hydraulic roller, 9.3:1 compression) he asked how much power I wanted to make using a 76 mm turbo, and I said "600 rwhp which is about 710 crank hp" and his comment was "that's it???".....

I have been heavily considering turbo stuff for my small block as well. Currently it is a 416" R1 block with ported W2 heads and runs 10.50s@3550lbs. I would love to tame the big solid roller down a little to be easier on parts and throw some boost at it. I already have EFI and lots of fuel system....I just need time and money haha.

What I really want to do is take some of the racecar out of my street car but make it faster at the same time. Easy right? realcrazy
