Who has a good quality manual valve body? Are there any I should stay away from?

Has anyone used TCI's manual valve body?

mopowers, I ran the TransGo TF-3 manual kit in the past in my 727 and it was great.
I liked the fact that it did not have the reverse shift pattern which is a good thing.
What happens with most reverse pattern transmissions, is you loose the holding power of the first/reverse band and you are on the sprag in first gear.
And it worked with the Cuda's slap stick shifter. Plus it used the throttle preassure linlage so the shift wss not bumping the car all of the time when in daily traffic.
I would never run TCI in anything, but B&M products are also good.

I've had a J.Winter's reverse-manual valve body for over 20 years and it still works great. We're building a new Flite for it right now. This will be the 5th tranny it's been in.

Street racing is a mystery to most people, but I've got it figured out. If it blows up with a single 4, go dual quads. If that goes, inject it. And fix it fast.

Thanks guys. To be honest, I'm just looking for the most affordable option. I bought a 66 Barracuda recently w/ no kickdown linkage. It is just pinned back about half way with a homemade rod at the trans.

Once I started pricing an aftermarket kickdown set-up including brackets, it darn near approaches the cost of a manual valve body. So I figure it'll be better just to go with a new valve body and do away with the throttle pressure linkage all together.

I noticed some of them say for race only. Why is that? The car is a street car, so I need it to last.

I have one of John's reverse manual VBs in my street car. It works great on the street. Call John, tell him what your doing and he will set you up with the right VB.

I've had a foward shifting Turbo Action valve body in my street car for over 5 years with no problems. As far as I, know race valve bodys have no deceleration in 1st gear which I like cause I can pull it in to first and coast up to I traffic light.

Turbo Action forward pattern manual valve body with low band apply in my wife's '70 Barracuda since 2006. Performs flawless with the factory '70 shifter.

think of it as an investment

low band apply for the street

no throttle presure linkage

the linkage part has allways been the hardest part for me building/swaping engines/tranz in mopar cars and trucks

it was crazy $ for truck linkage on my 88 440 truck,I went CRT

just give John a call

walked me right thru on how to install it and the servo
