You guys all make it sound pretty simple. I am ready to install the long. R/T stripe on my Challenger & have asked numerous paint & body guys that I know & they don't want to touch in due to fear of screwing it up. IS THIS SOMETHING A FIRST TIMER CAN REALLY DO?

It ain't rocket science, The strips I got came with great directions and I followed them. It is easy with soap and water. I've used both soap and windex and I prefer soap. I let the paper dry for about 1-2 hours and remove the backing paper. I found if I wait overnite it's tougher to get off. The second time my RT stripes were applied by my painter. He did it with lub underneath. And then he sprayed the backing paper with lub on top and it released it wet. He was done putting them on in like 10 mins.

I did the hood too.

Hey Chris, is that the NOS stripe I sent you for your car? It's about time you got busy and put it on. Slacker.

Mike

Hey Mike, the piece you sent me I used for 3M to source the original textured vinyl. After almost 8 mths they reported back that the vinyl used in NOS Stripes was no longer available. The correct textured vinyl was a process they used back in the 60' & 70's.

The process they use now elminates the undesirable "textured" effect to create smooth satin finishes. I was lucky enough to find a couple of nice sets of NOS and decided to give them a try. The results are outstanding!

I will show at Carlisle next week.

Thanks again for the sample piece, never did get it back from 3M!

Chris

B Body stripes can be just as easy to install if you take your time.
