I've been looking around to see if anyone makes a standalone to work with the distributorless ignition on a boosted 5.7. FAST, MP, XV, etc makes standalones for normally aspirated system, but boosted, forget it.

I like the SDS stuff, but they only do distributorless up to 6 cylinders.

Anyone get Megasquirt to work with something like this????

You can try posting over on the megasquirt forums msefi.com there have been plenty of boosted V8's done with megasquirt. Really if you hang an edis-8 trigger wheel on it, megasquirt won't know the difference between a 5.7 and any other engine it's been hooked up to. However I seem to recall reading something about a new code version for the megasquirt units that allows you to use the stock 5.7 hemi crank sensor but it was a couple years ago that I read that and I'm not sure on the specifics of it. The code variant to do the stock sensors on the 5.7 might be based off the msextra.com forums.

Speaking of edis-8, I would assume SDS would be able to run an edis-8 equiped 5.7 hemi...?

yeah, I'm thinking EDIS-8 from the local pick-n-pull would do the trick for the ignition side.

Looks like Megasquirt in my future!

I think the MS III might be the one that can use the 5.7 crank sensor, but from what I've read it's still in beta

SDS will only run up to 6 cyl distributorless.

If I'd stuck with a 360 Magnum SDS would be getting my money for an EM-4 E/MSD.

MS3 is available.

http://www.diyautotune.com/

Matt Cramer runs that site. I bet he would know the ins and outs since he is a mopar guy.

I ran an MS1extra on my 545" BB Ranger and loved it.

Yes MS-3 has been officially released. Has some nice toys and can do sequential injection. I have MS-2 which I bought several years ago and haven't gotten to installing yet. Matt Cramer is a good resource, back when I was getting into the MS stuff I noticed he was fairly active on the msefi forums.

Hummm (3,165.00)$165 more than a FAST XFI http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FAST-3010...sQ5fAccessories I don't think that's ridiculous, I run this on my set-up and it works flawless

I doubt it is as flexible as the FAST system making it not worth near the money but I havn't researched it. I went MSII for about $1400. My system won't support a next gen hemi without a EDIS 8 but a MSIII will with sequential if you want it but costs go up. Still doubt you would hit much over 2K though.

You could check out Electromotive http://www.distributorless.com/products/tec.php

Distributorless is what they have always done.

New guy here, but a few people have has success running a gm computer with their 5.7's. The gm unit is tunable but some what limited for boost. I have tuned a few turboed and supercharged GM trucks including my own using HPTuners. Let me know if you want more info on this option, I might even beable to point you in the right derection for parts.... One thing is it would be cheap...

Pretty much decided to go with Megasquirt 3, kind of like the Linux of engine controllers 5.7 uses the same trigger wheel as the Neon and MS3 can use the cam sensor as well. It'll do sequential or bank/batch fire on the injectors, works with a 3 bar MAP, fires COP natively...lots of good options. Not plug-n-play though, but I've had enough experience with 2.2 Turbo Dodges over the years to know what needs to go where and how on setup.

Yes definitely not plug and play, however the MS stuff can be fun. I bought the basic MS-2 controller and am about 1/2 way done the process of assembling it myself. If I had to do it all over again I would just buy the preassembled version with the 3.57 board. The 3.57 is all machine assembled unlike the other ones that either you or someone else has soddered together by hand.
