In a "Overbored" 273? I have not found the specs for that piston yet. I know you would need a special rod. If this piston could be worked to work, cheap 273 builds.
And sorry if this has been asked before, I have not found any talk about it.

The reason I ask is there are no over the counter pistons for a 273. Egge has replacements but not a HP piston. My plans are to get new rods anyway.
I know that in the near future that those with a 5.0 will be yanking out the stock pistons during a build. These will be flooding E-bag soon.
And I know, "Why build a 273 when a 318 weighs about the same and is 45 cubes bigger?"

silvolite PN 1079 is the right bore, and 1.857" comp height, so would be .035" out of the block on a 273...pin is .912", so you could bush the stock rods down... they're for a 50's ford, and are $227/set from summit. http://kb-silvolite.com/silv-o-lite/spistons.php?action=details&S_id=227if available .060 over would work with a turned down 360 crank & bushed rods & make 295CID at stock bore... http://kb-silvolite.com/silv-o-lite/spistons.php?action=details&S_id=576http://kb-silvolite.com/silv-o-lite/spistons.php?action=details&S_id=480would work with a 4" crank and stock length rods if available .060 over and yield 331 CID but yes, I do agree, why bother, just use a roller block 318, get the hydraulic roller reground, and run KB167's...
