I have a 70 Challenger with a variable speed motor. I don't like the variable speed. I think that I'd rather have a three speed set up. I know that the dash switch is different. Are the motors the same? If not, how can I tell the difference?
Thanks for any info.

all I can add is I went from a single sp to a 3 sp in a 65 Dart & the 3 sp mtr had more wires so the mtr was different. What didn't you like about the VS in case I run into one?

Fast speed at most times is too fast. If you slow it down a bit it drags across the glass. Its hard to explain. It just doesn't sweep nicely across the glass. Besides, with a three speed motor I think that I can add a delay timer unit on it. I know that the two speed motor is completely different and the wiring is too. I am thinking that the variable speed and the three speed motors are the same. Just the switch and the connections are different. At least thats what I think.
I was hoping that someone can confirm that.

It's the switch and under dash connector that are different. The motors are the same
