my new 440 has a strange problem. if you accelrate at full thrtle from a stop in scond gear arund 3000 rpm it misses/bogs untill it reaches 3800 then it seems to clear up. when you first hit it it goes like heck for a few seconds. 800 cfm edelbrock, 10:1 compresson, 727 2600 stall 268 xe cam.

my question is is it to much carb or fuel starvation

Might hook a can of gas set in the eng compartment to the pump inlet & if then all good that'd elim the pump/pump line to carb as being inadequate & let you work on the rear line/sending unit. EDIT make sure your filter flows enough

Ok so you can go threw 1st hard..as in it pulls all the way to you shift point but when 2nd reaches 3k it bogs? Or does it bog at 3k in 1st too? If you are really "getting it" the 800 eddy might be having a problem keeping the bowls full. 5/16 fuel line is fine for your application. What fuel pump is on the car? What is your timing set at?

no if you start in second with the manual valvebody, floor it at a stop it takes of great. then 3 seconds into the run it acts up around 3000 rpm. if you use first it doesnt do it at all untill 3rd gear

why are you starting in 2nd? you are probably coming up on t he converter or something at 3k and it creats a load that is unnatural. Not really a good idea to start out in 2nd unless you are in the burn out box.
So if you go thru 1-2 fine and in 3rd it does it again?

yes if you go through the gears it dousnt do it till 3rd it seems to only act up when the motor is being heald back by the high gear

Ok on #1 get better tires or come out softer. I'm not expert but I don't think crushing it in 2nd from a dead stop is a good idea.

#2 you might have a t iming issue then. What do you have it set at? It could also be advacing more than you'd like.
