Wish I could set the motor in with all this already bolted all up tight and not have to fight it in the engine bay....headers just ain't going to allow it....may do some more checking though...might figure out some way.

Your previous setup had the turbos toward the back. Why have you changed them to the front??

I am looking to install mine in the back so I am just wondering what made you change.

IS Joe still building your superbird? Why not put them up in the nose. I always wanted to do that with a superbird...

Heres a before pic....the gt42 framed turbos just are to big to clear the hood and to have enough room to to get the 3.5" downpipes routed....also easier to get off valve covers...change plugs..and so forth....

Is that an Indy intake your using and have you cut down the plenum were the carb sits on?

Reason I ask is that I have an Indy on my eng and am going blow through but am having trouble trying to keep it as low as I can to run a low scoop.

Also wondering if I did cut the plenum down will it hurt air flow?

I don't belive it would as it is forced in but would like someones thought on this.

Thanks

Cheers gg4088

Yes it is an Indy intake that I stuck on a mill and took rougly 1-1/4" as far as I can remember...it leaves a strange shape on entering the plenum though (no longer square, kind of starry shaped)....I am not as concerned though with the EFI....to me blowthrough would be a different animal...I don't think I would cut it. If you did, you would probably need to do a lot of blending or consult with Ryan on here and see what he thinks. I believe an inch or less would keep the plenum square.

My Indy after cutting is the same height as my old 340 victor with a 1" spacer

The heads are Indy 230cc 360-2 finish prepped by Ryan at Shady Dell....the block is a Mopar Resto-block...cam is Bullet solid flat tappet 259/255 .630 lift at 1.6 114 cenerline installed at 112 using smith machine composte lifters with 225 closed 450 open.
Indy 1.6 rockers, smith bros 3/8 pushrods

Thanks! What kind of wrap is that around the master cylinder? Im looking for something that can be used to keep the pipe to the throttle body cool. Right now, it gets pretty hot because it is about 6" from the headers.

I have a question, why run the down pipes past the valve covers and not down undernether the headers, just curious?

Just not enough room to get them turned down under neath them.....frame rails are already tight with the headers....oil filter....starter....motor mounts...all in the way

With the downpipe high no problem getting the covers off with them still in place.

The wrap is just some jegs/summit heat blanket....cut it and stapled together...worked pretty good because downpipe was about 3/4 inch away...was a plastic master cylinder....atleast the new setup is quite a bit farther away now.
