Hey All,

I have a '55 Belvedere that originally came with an L-6. I am changing to a small block and have found a '76 cordoba that has what i think is most of the stuff I am looking for (360, 904....etc). I have a few questions that I hope someone knows the answer to.

I read on another site that a 66-67 b-body 8 3/4 is a direct swap into the 55. The cordoba has an 8 1/4 (I assume that is what a stock rear in that car would be). What are the dimensional comparisons between the two units. By that, i mean what is hub to hub dimension and the perch to perch dimension. Are they the same?

I hope someone can help....thanks in advance.

Uh, thanks. I did a search in the ARCHIVES, but since I can only do a search every few minutes....i was hoping maybe someone who is familiar with the subject might point me in the right direction. I mistakenly thought that is what a question and answer board is for. Silly me.

Ok, it appears I need to get off my lazy keester (sp?) and measure the darned thing. I see all sorts of info on newer mopars but can't seem to find anything on the 50's cars. Thanks.

I installed an E-Body 8-3/4 under Kayse's 55 Desoto and it was a bolt in.
A 55 Plymouth should be the same.

The spring perches are the same width (46 inches IIRC) and the overall widths is basically the same (about 1/4" narrower and about 61" overall IIRC).

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol
