I am going to replace some components in my fuel system. Having some issues with fuel pressure while racing.

Current fuel system is pretty old, and "eventually" I will be going from the current 451 to a 540 motor.

With that in mind,,,,, what would you guys recomend for a fuel pump and regulator that will work with my 451,,,and handle a bigger motor down the road ....?

Also, what do you guys like for filters ?

Current system is a "small" holley black pump and BG regulator and "can" style, paper filter

hi doug how did you do at norwalk? doug i would say to use the holley 250 if you can still get a rebuild kit for it. it only had about 20 passes when it pump quit on me.all it needs is the bottom pump part and the small B/G filter on the holley 250 is sposed to flow over i think 500 gph but not sure. but if you want to do a new fuel system i say to go with airomotive.doug i would like to buy the holley back pump off of you if you decide to take it off pretty soon.thanks Mopar65

I agree w/ Bill, go big now and be done with it.
I'd use either an Aeromotive or Magnafuel pump w/ the filter they recommend for each one.
I have an Aeromotive A1000 pump on the cuda. For a race only car I'd use the A2000 pump.

I have Aeromotive complete systems in the car and boat. They helped me spec both systems out and I like the customer support. It will also support Efi if I ever decide to go that route.

Spend the money on a Magnafuel 500 pump filter combo. Be the last pump you buy. Not cheap, but the best you can get period. Bought mine used, and never have regretted it one bit.

Magnafuel pump and filter along with 4 port regulator. Mount the regulator forward of the carb.

Product Engineering has some really nice pumps, regulators, etc. Very similar to the magnafuels but have heard a little better results.

You have the plumbing in place - go with a bypass type pump - a couple of inline screen type filters one before the pump and one after. then pick a reliable regulator and mount it up by the carb on a plate under your carb or on the fenderwell. I have had good luck with the mallory 250 in the past and the big holley regulator - not sure if they even make that one anymore. You have the electrical already in place with a relay and fuse link
