Just have been hearing, no more big blocks available other than what is in inventories of dealers.
Supplier issues and ????'s as to who will continue and when.
World no longer making for Mopar?
Will World continue to produce on thier own?
Hearing all thats left in mopar system is it.
Just wondering about future availability.
Reason to suspect dry spell ahead?
Appreciate the info.

When I bought my iron World block in July the dealer told me it was the last iron block in World’s ware house. If you go to Worlds web site you will see the only block they have listed is the aluminum block. If I had it to do over again I don’t think I would buy a World block again due to quality issues. For example, the internal oil pick up has an adapter that bolts to the block that the oil pick up threads into. When using a 4.15 stroke crank the adapter needs to be clearanced to keep the number two rod from hitting it. It’s small details like the adapter and the main stud issue (a big detail) that you are all aware of that World should have corrected during development.

So how is WORLD even involved if they don't own the foundry or machine shop, they sub contract all the work on the blocks out and then sell them? Is WORLD not going to bother with the RB blocks anymore? Is someone else going to pick up where they left off? Don't leave us hanging ZIPPY

There is a new post that should help the lower HP needs of the racer who was deciding either to go OEM or aftermarket blocks.
It is titled Huge announcement all moparts members should read.

Thanks--Greg

Their distributors (Jegs, Summit, etc.) are going to have a lot of P.O.'d customers if they don't update their catalogs then.

There are 7 4.310 rough bore wedge blocks in the warehouse right this minute. They may be ordered at any time from any MP dealer. The 4.49 rough bore and the 4.500 finished bore seem to have gone away at least for the moment. There are over 60 4.25 finished bore HEMI blocks available right now. SOme of the other part numbers may have gone away or are going away. This seems to ME most likely linked to the boring and honing process with the larger bore sizes. A lot of blocks get returned for quality issues.

Didnt realize so many issues with World.

Thank God for people like the Koffels and Kent Ritter for tackling such a difficult endeavor.
Hats off to them.

Can you elaborate on that?
I was under the impression that World worked with Chrysler (under contract agreement?) and they developed the design, cores, etc for the "World" blocks. Then World was allowed to produce/sell the aluminum ones, while the iron ones were sold through MP distributors. I didn't realize that the casting and machining of the iron blocks were contracted (by Chrysler) to someone other than World.

Interesting. Correct my impressions.

This is from the World main stud thread.

Shifting the blame to "the foundry" earlier in this thread was pretty funny. A foundry doesn't use any fasteners at all, so how was it their fault? And the foundry mark on my iron block is "DF" (with a backwards "D".....I'm pretty sure the Da---- Foundry isn't owned or operated by World Products either, and I'm pretty sure they are using Chrysler's million dollar tooling to produce the engine blocks we are discussing here.

I've lost track.
How many unique iron Wedge big blocks are available on the market right now, what are they, and from whom?

Or simply put, if I wanted to buy any bare, NEW, iron Wedge BB, what are the different choices, namewise, regardless who distributes them?
Thanks.
