I wanna powder coat my motor plate. Its on a 400 block. what are your thoughts. I was worried about coolant effecting the powder coat.

It wont be the coolent, but the heat. I painted my motor plate when I painted my car, so far so good
To my knowledge powder coat is more durable than any paint.
Lots of stuff seems to get powder coated. I see intakes, valve covers, brackets.
Seems to last good enough, these parts should see the same temp as the motor plates.

Poweder is baked at around 400* If the coolant gets that hot, you will have more problems then the powder on the motor plate.

for what it's worth, i had a set of elephant ears powder coated for a dart i had, and they leaked...so i just ground off the powder coating at the area where they met up with the block/ pump housing and had no more problems.

Well......for starters , the distributor is on the wrong end of the motor.
That is a stout looking bullet.
I will be keeping an eye on his answers too , because E-85 is also in my future.
