Pull the vavle covers and look at the springs... some have a chrome plating on them and pull the pan and check the bearings... dont wait till it stops suddenly

Mine always has a silver tint to it every time I change the oil. Nothing big, just you can see a silver color in it when you stir it in the sunlight. I change my oil every 40 passes or so.
Piston skirts,valve train wear and just about everything else contribute to it IMO.
I worried about it at first but after about 350 passes at 7000 rpm if something was wrong I would have found it lol.

Like i said i took the pan off around run 5 and looked at two bearings and they looked fine.
Skirts may be wearing since i saw the cylinder walls had some rough spots in them from the last owner not hibernating the motor properly after using alchy.
The rockers i could also see wearing a bit. The heads are b1-TS and they are T&D rockers. A lot of pressure on the side of the rocker which could be scrubbing on the side against the spacing washer that T&D recommends.
Hmmmm Same amount of glitter every two runs... no "pieces" or fragments in the filter but there is certainly a shine to the oil.....
What to do What to do?
Maybe its normal engine wear for this size? Almost a 5 inch stroke.... Lots of skirt wear maybe....

What brand and weight oil are you using? Some brands have a gold tint in them after using them, maybe some can have a silver tint  Contact Chief Aircraft Supplys or Aircraft Spruce for oil analisis kits or googel oil testing, analysing the oil will really help identify the problem, real or not  I use to use the kits after every other oil change(50 hours) on my airplane motor before it got totaled in a hail storm  Long term use of the oil analysing will help identify trends versus sudden changes in wear

I agree. Hard to tell without looking but there is always going to be a certain amount of metal in the oil after making runs. We used to use cut our filters apart and get worried. Now we just quit cutting. We take our motor apart about every 15-20 runs even with no outward sign of an issue-never have any serious bearing distress.
