Another customer brought me parts done by the bumper boyz that were still all rusty and crusty under the chrome on the back side of the peice... horrible job ! choose your plater wisely and let them know up front, in writing that you will not accept anything but top quality work... the reason it looks "wavy' is that the plater over polished it. he tried to remove deep imperfections and in doing so had to polish so much metal away that it leaves a low spot in the surface. when plated the low spot appears "wavy". unions....the folks who brought you the weekend!

As a starting point, anything less than perfect would be an upcharge. While I agree they do great work I wasn’t willing to sent a front and rear Cuda bumper for a starting price of $1400, God forbid they find anything that needed attention, I could have been at 18-2k in a hurry Needless to say I went elsewhere

Sure, you get some marks on the inside of rechromed bumpers. They (most) have been straightened! As long as the outside finish is good. Who sees that once on a car? I have bought quite a few bumpers from Tri-City Plating, and always very happy with price and quality. If I have a real nice core, I will get that one back. I’ve put my name on the inside, that’s how I know. I think they are the best buy! I had an early Pontiac that Paul’s plated the front bumper, it looked like a piece of jewelry! No waves, or defects, perfect, over the top showcar, just beautiful... but $1700 dollars for that look. I honestly am not impressed with most of the reproduction bumper chrome, look a bit cheap to me. And of course, this is just my personal opinion...

I sent the cores in and they stripped and straightened them then shipped them back and I sanded the press marks out of the backsides and sent them back for the plating. They came back and look very nice!!

They look pretty good ,but there are grind marks when you look from the side. also the reverse light holes and plate bracket did not line up at all. i had to re-drill all of that to fit. the car is in paint shop until next week hopefully they mount on the car ok.

Since nobody repops any C body schtuff I got my bumpers done by Sandy's Bumper Mart.been dealing with them for about 10-15 years. http://www.sandysbumpermart.com/ Cost was half of Cambridge Chrome even with the CDN/U.S. dollar exchange rate. I am two hours away from their shop so I drove there to avoid shipping and any damage from shipping. High quality street chrome-not Pebble Beach but my car still took home trophies from Carlisle and Mopar Madness shows last summer. Last edited by 68Cbarge; 03/15/19 10:23 AM.
