Hey Guys,

I have installed the .528 MP cam in my 440. Stock Eddy heads are installed. I used a piston stop to verify TDC. Then I followed the instructions in the Mopar BB Engine manual to degree the .528. I used the crank sprocket to advance the cam. The first time I got 106, then I got 107.5, and then the third time I got 106 again. What have I done wrong? I can add the steps I used to get the TDC and the centerline, but I figured that would make this thread long.

Michael

Leave @ 107.5 ICL (13 btdc @ .050")) , all will be good.

I'm just hoping I have done everything right so that the cam is installed correctly. I noticed the distributor gear is almost straight level when #1 is at TDC.

Try checking the intake lobe enter at .050, also .100 and .200 before and after max lift. don't be suprised to see one degree differences on the Mopar brand cams. The way to verfiy the exact lobe seperation the cam is ground on is to check the exhaust lobe to see if it is advanced the same amount as the intake is, IE if 110 lobe seperation and the intake is in at 107 ATDC the exhaust should be in at 113 BTDC
