OK I know this has been posted before. I know you guys are out there. Please post what you did to your SS springs to get them to work with Caltracs.

The obviou$ an$wer is "Replaced them w/ Calvert's split mono-leaf springs."

Everything else basically involves removing leafs and/or band-aiding them to be less "active" and trying not to work against the CalTracs.

When I ran my SS springs with cal tracks I ran 9000 ranchos on 7 and 1 1/3 turns pre load driver and 1 2/3 pre load pass and 90/10's up front swear it was better than the split monos now?? LOL!!

It yanked the wheels better. This was that set up off the T brake.

This was 3 weeks ago with split mono + 1" 9000 rancho shocks on 3 similar pre load "even" as I run an air shock to pre load pass side. Can still see over hood all the time were withh the ss springs would lose sight of track in front momentarily.

I had originally put an extra leaf in and deleted one short on the pass as they were too week for my liking on the street! always worked good the cal tracs made them better.

If you truly understood the principles of the CalTrac system you'd just get the split leafs. This is what they were designed for and this is how they work the best. Call Calvert Racing and they will explain it all to you.

I received this info from a Calvert tech when i purchased mine, he told me to remove one leaf on each spring as you need to soften the spring and only use it to hold the car up not to plant the tires this has worked well for me once i got the preload set i have been running these for three or four years. just my

I have not heard of many switching to a mono from the ss and seeing much if any improvement. If I were looking to purchase springs I would go to the mono's. But I really don't want the added expense, and I can always install the mono.s later.

The car has 60' with a 1.45 on the SS springs.
